Be Strong in the Lord

Passage: Ephesians 6:10-24 — Do you ever wish you were stronger? True strength isn’t what we think. It’s not self-reliance: pulling yourself up by your bootstraps will only wear you out. It’s not self-mastery: constantly optimizing your habits will ultimately lead to discouragement. It’s not masculine bravado or over-confidence. Fake it till you make it. And it’s not radical authenticity – simply make weakness our identity. That’s hopeless. Our passage shows us that true strength is Christ-dependence. He strengthens those who depend on him. The Big Idea is: Be Strong in the Lord. The rest of the passage shows us three ways how: First, understand your enemy. Second, wear God's armor. Third, pray with urgency.
