Proverbs: Life in the Real World

We must need a lot of help on this topic because Proverbs has a lot to say about it: when it's a good idea, when it's not a good idea, and how to avoid the kind of escalating, destructive conflict Proverbs calls strife. The Big idea in Proverbs is that underneath all of our day-to-day conflicts is the ultimate conflict – the spiritual war between good and evil, between love and hatred. And the good news of the Bible is that love wins in the end. Proverbs 10:12 says, Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses. All offenses. Every wrong. In the end, Proverbs says, love covers it. So that's the big idea tonight love covers all offenses. And we'll look at how it does that. Three ways. Love avoids unnecessary conflict. Love embraces necessary conflict. And Love heals our conflict with God.
