The Bible tells the story of how God gifted King Solomon with wisdom unlike anyone before or after him. And he wrote the bulk of the book of Proverbs because he wanted to pass as much of that along to his sons as he could. They were going to be in powerful positions one day, and he wants to make sure they understand how wise decisions are made. The north star Proverb on this topic, the Proverb that orients all the others is one we just read is Proverbs 3:5-6. Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Since Proverbs is immensely practical, we'll look at three of the ways it teaches us to do this. First, don't trust yourself. Second, commit your ways to the Lord, and third, experience his guidance.
