Passage: Luke 9:51-62 — Luke begins his writing of the journey to Jerusalem with two stories that remind disciples of Jesus about the cost of following him. He does this because the same is true for his readers. It cost the disciples to follow Jesus, and it will cost us too. That’s our big idea: It will cost you to follow Jesus. We’ll walk through the text and see five costs to following Jesus.
