Passage: Mark 16:1-8 — Easter Sunday is the most joyful day in the Christian calendar, because there is nothing in all the world so incredible as the claim that 2,000 years ago, Jesus rose from the dead. No news so astounding – if we truly believe it – will fill us with more trembling and amazement.  On Good Friday, we felt the ominous and serious cost of all that Jesus did for us. Today, let the resurrection of Jesus make us tremble with awe. The big idea this Easter:  Look to the empty tomb and be amazed. In Mark's narrative, we get to experience the resurrection through the emotions of the women who first heard the news. First, they were resigned. Second, they were surprised, and finally, they were amazed.
