Monsters Will Threaten Us, but We Will Prevail

Passage: Daniel 7:1-28 — A biblical apocalypse uses super vivid imagery to tell the “end of the world” story. It’s one way the scriptures are fundamentally different from all other ancient mythology. In ancient religious literature, the conflict never ends, the battle between good and evil is between two equal powers and the chaos lasts forever. The Bible teaches that the present age of conflict WON’T last forever but will end when God establishes his kingdom of peace. Good will triumph over evil. In Daniel 7 we read about wild visions Daniel received and passed along to God's freaked out people, suffering under evil and violent empires. Why pass such scary stories along to God's people? To help them endure. To give them hope by reminding them that God is still on the throne, and he’s not threatened by the monsters facing them. The Big idea of Daniel 7 is this: Monsters Will Threaten Us, but We Will Prevail.
