Our Weakness Reveals His Majesty

Passage: Luke 9:37-50 — Our passage today consists of four stories that all highlight the weakness or failure of the disciples. They show us the reality and difficulty of ministry in a fallen world. By contrast, throughout each story Jesus is patient, powerful and present. He heals the boy they couldn’t, instructs them in their confusion, and humbles them in their prideful ambition. The big idea is this: Our weakness reveals his majesty. We will look at three principles for the valley of ministry. First, we must depend on his presence and power. Second, We must press on through uncertainty. Third, we must pour ourselves out to serve others.
