Passage: Luke 13:22-14:24 — In our text, Jesus calls us to live in light of ultimate reality. It’s a long text with five different stories, but it paints a singular picture. The one true God has opened the doors of heaven – and mercifully invited everyone to come. Will we stay in our reality distortion zones and ignore his invitation, or will we come, receive mercy from the Lord, and live in paradise forever? This is the big idea: Receive the Lord’s Invitation. As Jesus confronts us with ultimate spiritual reality, we’ll see what it takes to receive his invitation. First, strive to be saved. Second, humble yourself. Third, listen to his servant.
