Take Care How You Hear

Luke: God's Promise Fulfilled

Passage: Luke 8:1-21 — Why are some people transformed when they hear the gospel and others harden their hearts and reject him? In our text today, we learn that it comes down to how we hear the news. Some, Jesus says, have ears to hear, and some do not. He tells a parable about four types of people who hear the gospel, and only one bears fruit. Our big idea comes from verse 18: Take care how you hear. We will look at this in two parts. First, don’t hear only, but also believe. Second, don’t believe only, but also root yourself.
